Zo comes across as a hidden gem amidst the grandiose of HKV. Nestled away from the buzzing joints, few steps beyond Naivedyam and almost fencing Deer Park, this is one hell of a charming place. It’s USP lies in its serenity and a very, very classy ambiance : Plush and rich decor, stunning chandelier, et al – One can be forgiven for having a sense of throwback to one of those regal colonial spaces of our hill stations.
Food ? I should confess this is probably the best Mediterranean cuisine I have had in Delhi.
Shish Tabouk : a very popular preparation was done to perfection – the chicken just rightly spiced and grilled and a burst of tangy flavours to accompany it with. And Pita bread on the sides, this dish was par excellence.
Penne Bolognaise : Completely “meatilicious”, with dollop of mince to top the penne cooked in Italian tomato sauce and herbs. The portion was large enough to suffice for 2.
Funky Monkey French Waffle : loads of nutella, banana cuts, crispy waffle, ice cream and maple syrup – what else does a person need to end the perfect meal ! Strongly recommended .
Price – wise this is reasonable. Service was really good. Folks looking for authentic continental cuisine and a peaceful, calm ambiance should give Zo a try.
Rating : ****1/2
I cannot wait to be back and try that sinful shepherd’s pie soon..amidst many other things !
