Poetry: Were, Weren’t

You were there when that sun shone bright
But weren’t when storms lashed without a pause

You were there when world gaped at fame
But weren’t when oblivion left the door ajar

You were there when laughter filled the air
But weren’t when he was caught in despair

You were there when eternity seemed momentary
But weren’t when the years sped by in a jiffy

Now You wish him to be , to be there
But he has swam many a tide and seas afar !

  1. Well written. It is remained me of the following words:
“It’s not important who stands with you in good times but who stands by your side even during failure are the ones who are to be cherished.”

    Have a great day!

  3. Hey Aishwarya, I’m really digging this website. I generally review most art forms, but really consider myself a film and music guy. I’ve started dabbling in food and poetry so stumbling across this blog was a pleasant delight. I’m going to keep coming back for inspiration!

  4. I’m new so i was so shaken by you whole concept with the blog and i went through it, i really loved the line eternity being momentarily, ghaashh man, i feel like whenever i forget my worries, the time stops and its an amazing feeling so you story resonates deeply with me, those words in that order reminded me of it and that what poetry is about, bringing people to reality by sending them deep into the imagination, thank you.
