Food reviewing is back ! And what better way to (re)start with a funky, cozy restaurant categorically named “FrenZone” ! (That did lead me to wonder about the mixed feelings couples coming here on a date might have, but fine, deal with it :D) . This very British – inspired themed place is located at one of the famous food hubs of Delhi – Satyaniketan, and did ensure some jolly good eating time for us. PS: By British – inspired I mean, there is the Big Ben, British royal guards, London wheel et al.
1) Fish and Chips : A tad spicier version of its usual self, salmon fish cutlets were done very well. A soothing flavor of garlic and herbs, along with the good-old tartar sauce made for a good beginning.
2) Baked Nachos with Chicken : was the star of the evening. Alternate layers of nachos, freshly tossed and smoked chicken mince topped with cheese were a treat for the taste buds. The presentation was exquisite too.
3) Chicken and Coriander Dimsums
While the look made it seem the juiciest of dimsums I have seen in a long while, the filling inside was a tad disappointing in spite of the coriander flavor. Chicken was rough and way too chewy. Could have been done much better.
4) Butterfly Pasta in Arrabiata Sauce
It had all the ticks for my checklist of a good arrabiata pasta : well- cooked, not-overly-cheesy, mild herbs’ & oregano flavored and non-spicy meat chunks. Done well, did well.
With 3 of the 4 dishes ordered satiating my expectations, good service and pleasing interiors, would go with a 4 star rating for this place.
