Hello from Himachal

Hello everyone !

Hope you all are doing great ! After almost a gap of 2 years, yours truly is back on the blogging platform. This time frame essentially entailed my entire training period as an IFS Probationer aka Officer Trainee. August-December 2017 at LBSNAA viz 92nd Foundation Course, Mussoorie followed by 16 months of professional training at IGNFA, FRI Dehradun till April 2019.

Will eventually pen down my experiences in upcoming posts of the rollercoaster ride it has been, having travelled more than 100 cities across the country, done all kinds of activities ranging from rifle shooting to innumerous trekking uptil Gaumukh glacier , village visits for learning ground realities of administration, Scuba diving in Andamans and bungee jumping/rafting in Rishikesh to close encounters with the Big Cats in Ranthambore, Gir etc., morning PTs and endless classes, modules to landing up the Prime Minister’s award for best essay on ‘Primary Education’ :). Phew, it has been quite a journey !

I was also immensely glad to know that my blog posts on UPSC Prelims preparation, and IFS strategy could be of help to a lot of aspirants over this time duration. Some of them have cracked the exam in 2018 and 2019, and hopefully many more continue to do so πŸ™‚ Would resume the channel to help if any of you have doubts regarding the exam preparation.

Coming back to the title of this post, Himachal Pradesh is eventually where I landed up basis my cadre allocation. It has been no less than a blessing to have been posted here , an immensely beautiful state with rich forests, pristine rivers and valleys and people as warm as warm can be ! Been a month since my first posting in Kullu, and so far I would say it has been a good learning curve. Having spent 5 years of childhood in the mountains of Mussoorie, it is like a homecoming of sorts to the mountains of Manali πŸ™‚

Putting together some glimpses of the journey , and hope to connect with my WordPress family in the same way as before ! To new beginnings , Cheers πŸ™‚

  1. Hey Aishwarya !! Mountains are home and a homing pigeon always finds its way back home. Best wishes for the start of this new journey. Journey reminds me our nostalgic rail journey all wrapped heady scents of rains soaked country side last monsoons to what we both associate as β€˜home’.
    Take care !!
